Chez Claude Restaurant,

5 Strawberry Hill Road, Acton, (978) 263-3325.

The food is superb, the service is gracious, and the setting is charming " a 200-year-old red farmhouse resting on a wooded hill. Chef Claude Miquel attracts a loyal clientele with what he calls "classic countryside French cooking." Start with escargots, continue with stuffed pork tenderloin (bursting with flavor and meaty mushrooms) and end with a three-berry tart. Life doesn't get much better.
